TEA operates under a grant funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Through the SAMHSA Drug Free Communities (DFC) grant we focus our priorities on preventing Prescription Drug abuse in Van Buren County.

We do this by working closely with doctors and pharmacists to ensure the safeguard of potentially dangerous prescription drugs as defined by SAMHSA. TEA provides free lockable medicine boxes to qualified households. Please visit one of Van Buren County's pharmacies to receive a voucher for a free lockable medicine box.
